When there is a risk in an ATEX-zone very specific measures must be put in place to prevent an explosion.

Preventive measures must be implemented in all technical and organisational aspects of the zone in question. This applies equally to the mobile tools used, the working clothing and the fixed installations on site.

However, the presence of an ATEX zone should not prevent the deployment of appropriate protection measures for operators working in the area. For example, to ensure the safe transfer of loads between different levels and on a mezzanine floor, it is essential to install a safety pallet gate. So how do you go about it?

The first step is to ensure that the equipment is never isolated from the designated earth point. To meet the requirements and avoid any risk of electrostatic ignition, it is essential that the conductive metal parts are earthed. The safety gate must therefore be equipped with electrical continuity.
