When tankers arrive on site, it is often necessary to climb onto the dome in order to carry out certain operations, such as sampling, maintenance and washing. Herefore, operators use the integrated ladders on the vehicles and have no security when they are on the dome. What's more, access is often gained with equipment in hand, which increases the risk of falling.
Folding stairways AC2M are the answer to this problem of safety on the dome when accessing the tanker.
The principle is to make the operator safe with a retractable guardrail and to facilitate access to the dome by means of a deformable staircase. The gangway is locked in the upper position. The tanker arrives and moves into position. The operator unlocks the stairway and folds it down over the tank dome. The folding staircase and guardrail are put in place to improve access and safety around the area. By now, the operator can carry out his operations. Once he has finished, he raises the gangway and locks it. Access to the tank dome is secured. With the folding platform and its guardrail, the operator is safe when working on the tank dome.
Folding platforms AC2M (sometimes called folding stairs, folding platforms or foldable stairs) are operated manually, but can also be automated pneumatically or electrically (optional).
